Started in early 2015, Vincentius Aditya dan Fritz Yonathan yang merupakan founder Paradise Youth Club mengaku jika ide untuk membuat label streetwear tersebut muncul secara spontan. “We’re just doing it for fun! For daily personal use since we can’t afford to buy overpriced Supreme tees to support our so called social lyfe! Haha!” tukas mereka enteng. Well, saya tidak tahu apakah pengakuan itu hanya becanda atau memang sebuah brutal honesty, but one thing I know, itu adalah keputusan yang tepat. Turut dibantu oleh Hendrick Setio sebagai Distribution Manager, brand ini dengan nyaman memilih bergerak di ranah cutting edge dari urban street fashion. Menggabungkan berbagai influens dari budaya surfer, skatewear, musik, dan pengaruh 90’s yang kuat, lewat koleksi bertajuk “The United States of Paradise”, mereka merilis rangkaian t-shirt, crewneck sweaters, bucket hat, snapback, dan strapback dengan desain grafis yang menampilkan logo Paradise Youth Club, bendera US yang sudah di-tweak, dan tulisan seperti “Cash Can’t Rule”, dan “Talking To The Children About Nuclear War”. The overall statement of the brand is laidback, unisex, dan tentu saja, limited. Menyoal semakin riuhnya pasar streetwear global dan domestik, PYC pun menegaskan jika sekarang bukan zamannya lagi untuk merasa inferior memakai produk dari label lokal. “Tilt your head to our local brands, there’s many of ’em worth to see. You don’t have to wait till they’re featured on Hypebeast!Amen to that.

Behind the name:

Paradise is a state of mind! If you choose to change conditions for the better, get some material on mental imaging and start changing your life. The more depressed you are, the more you have to gain.

Inspiration:

Social issues and the universe. The goal itself is to revive the spirit from one of the greatest decade, to share that spirit to everyone else. To be aware that everyone has a right to have fun and everyone is entitled of their own paradise.

Surviving! We never do any market research! Better to let the brand manifest naturally, because it means it’s more honest and there’s more of a chance that people are going to connect to it.
